PATCH-HELDERBERG Child Abuse Centre

At PATCH-Helderberg Child Abuse Centre , we respect your privacy, and we will therefor protect your personal information. We are registered Social Service Professionals and we are guided by the Guidelines of South African Council of Social Service Professionals (SACSSP). These guidelines compel us to keep all the  information of present and former clients confidential (unless otherwise required by law).

 

We collect and store information about you in order for us to adhere to administrative and or legal requirements of the orginisation.

 

We collect basic personal information about you which does include names, addresses, contact details etc.

 

 

We will also collect sensitive confidential data in the form of health information and information on allegations of sexual abuse. We maintain records about your health and previous care and treatment.

 

We collect and store information in or order for us to continually assess, treat and manage your clinical and health best interest.

 

We will use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and agreed with you.

 

Each employee of PATCH has legal obligation to keep information about you confidential. We will not disclose your personal information to any third party unless there are exceptional circumstances such as service providers who are involved in the delivery of services to you (SAPS, Department of Social Development etc.)

 

We have agreements in place to ensure that they comply with the privacy requirements as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act.

We will, on an on-going basis, continue to review our security controls and related processes to ensure that our personal information remains secure. We will also inform you of any data breach with regards to your personal information.
